With all of the gaffes Michael Steele has been making in public, talk is brewing of him being replaced by South Carolina GOP Chairman Kaeton Dawson. He himself is already leading the pack of folks with long knives out for Steele.
I don't think I would be comfortable with him as our chairman, specifically due to his treatment of our grassroots "Draft Condi" movement. After our success in several South Carolina county caucuses , (Dr. Rice placed second in a few, due to our promotions), Dawson
promised us that Dr. Rice could be placed on the primary ballot, since one doesn't have to be an announced candidate to be on the ballot. Based on this promise, we poured a lot of resources into South Carolina.
Mr. Dawson , when asked by the media about this, sighed, rolled his eyes , and denied it.
If he didn't think it was possible, why not tell us at the outset? We could have focused efforts elsewhere. (Of course, this could just be a case of telling something meant to be a secret.)
I feel it's a case of the establishment GOP squashing us grassroots "peasants".
